Join a Witch, an Elf, a Pixie and an undead Vamp on a (virtual) roadtrip...

Tonight, we're hosting a very special streaming author event, starring New York Times besPaleDemonHC ctselling author Kim Harrison, and we can't think  of a better way to spend a rainy Friday night!  Her new book, PALE DEMON, was just released, and already it's been on the top 10 lists of major retailers!  If you want to hear about this preternaturally perfect road trip tale, brew a cup of tea (or pour a glass of wine) and join us online for Kim's virtual book tour stop, live from Joseph Beth Cincy!  (You'll also be able to order personalized copies online from Jo Beth.)

We all know that Cincinnati has special significance to Kim Harrison's novels. Protagonist Rachel Morgan, a desperado witch with some seriously ungodly powers, inhabits a world known as The Hollows--based upon the city of Cincy! PALE DEMON is the first time Rachel has left The Hollows...and her adventures on the road would certainly make Jack Kerouac roll in his grave. Twice.

Tune in tonight, February 25, at 7 pm ET, to www.vivolive.com/harpercollins/kimharrison for an out of this world adventure!

Shameless social networking

We've given in, and Eos now has a Facebook page. So if you need to pander to more social networking, we're here. And lonely. So be our friend--we promise not to send lil green patches, drinks, or overly post (once we finish setting up, that is), or anything else. Honest.

Baby Got Book

Okay, so I grew up in the '80s and obviously love books, but even without that, this is classic.  Children's editor Cheryl Klein has rewritten the immortal lyrics of Sir Mix-a-Lot's 'Baby Got Back,' for books.  Totally made my afternoon (and it's not like I needed that tea anyway).

"[Female voice]
Oh, my, god. Becky, look at her book. It is so big. *scoff* She looks like, one of those, librarians' girlfriends. But, you know, who understands those librarians? *scoff* They only talk to her, because, she looks like a total bibliovore, 'kay? I mean, her book, is just so big. *scoff* I can't believe it's just so thick. It's like, out there. I mean - gross. Look! She's just so ... smart!"

Check it out here.

io9 reviews EMISSARIES FROM THE DEAD

Emissaries Sf blog io9 reviews EMISSARIES FROM THE DEAD by Adam-Troy Castro,a nd loves it--yay!

"I was incredibly excited when I saw that Adam-Troy Castro, one of my favorite short-story writers, had finally published a novel. And Emissaries From The Dead is as great as I'd hoped, a noirish murder mystery set inside an artificial environment created by A.I.s for some unknown purpose.

TASTE OF NIGHT review

Taste SF Revu looks at THE TASTE OF NIGHT, by Vicki Pettersson:

"Vicki Petterson has created a truly unique urban fantasy world with a richness of tradition and depth of character that makes it feel vividly real. I highly recommend this book to any fan of urban fantasy. I would compare it to Jim Butcher or Charlaine Harris, but I think it owes more of its heritage to Frank Miller's graphic novel masterpieces like Dark Knight and Sin City. Read at your own risk, highly addictive."

Safe from Zombies?

So...is it safe to come out from under the desk now?

We've been hiding there because of all the zombies, but Ash hasn't come by either to save us or for some sugar, and well, editorial doesn't really work well without daily rations of caffeine (or better yet, scotch)...  *ventures out to the web*

Hmm. Seems like many sf authors have been turned into zombies, and they're probably heading straight for their publishers, so maybe we'll just hide out a bit longer...

*grabs manuscripts, bonbons, and small glass bottles*

Let us know when the world's behaving again, 'kay? Thx!
