The Golden Compass

Hi!

I'm Diana's assistant, Emily, and I am taking a turn on the blog.  Just to warn you, you will be hearing a lot more from me in the coming weeks and months.  But first on the agenda is THE GOLDEN COMPASS!

Only 8 days! 

I don't know if you have heard about the controversial press/religious criticism that the book and the movie have been getting, but we're not buying it over here at Eos.  We think it is going to be GREAT and cannot wait to go see it!  Personally, my love of the genre can be directly attributed to two authors, and Philip Pullman is one of them (Madeleine L'Engle is the other--they both completely hooked me).  So the fact that this awesome book is now a movie with an all-star cast is pretty darn cool.  So here's hoping that another generation of readers will be hooked on THE GOLDEN COMPASS!

Hi Emily! Nice to see you get a turn. I really liked these books and expect to take my eight-year-old son to see THE GOLDEN COMPASS when it opens. It certainly looks fantastic in the previews!
