You know, I've never actually managed to get one of these to work. Have you considered doing it the way Tor does? (DRM-free, easy links in multiple formats)

Going to have to second Melissa's comment.
My free copy from the first giveaway of Shaman's Crossing (downloaded directly from the HarperCollins site) won't open because it says I got it from somebody elses computer and I must pay for it.
I haven't tried another one since.
