Jack Womack, publicist and author extraordinaire

I'm thrilled to announce that Jack Womack has been promoted to Associate Director.  As the Eos publicist extraordinaire he has orchestrated publicity for all of the Eos authors, along with Chris Moore, Neal Stephenson, and more, and I couldn't be happier that he's been promoted.

He's also a fabulous, acclaimed author in his own right, from the Philip K. Dick Award-winning Elvissey, to his most recent Going Going Gone, but I'll let others talk here. Madman in the Kitchen

Anyone familiar with graphic novelist and author Warren Ellis's depraved and shocking work may be surprised to learn that he's also an avid cook. Neal Stephenson on genre-bending

Boing Boing has posted a video of a 40-minute talk Neal Stephenson gave to Gresham College in London last May.  It's about the nature of "literary genres" (or the increasingly lack thereof), and, as we've come to expect from Neal, it's fascinating.

Thomas M. Disch dies at 68

   From the New York Times: 

Thomas M. Disch, an author, poet and critic who twisted the inherently twisted genre of science fiction in new, disturbing directions, including writing his last book in the voice of God, died on Friday in his Manhattan apartment. He was 68.
